Job summary

Hope-Christian-Schools is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support scholars’ academic success and character development under the Lead Teacher and Principal. You will work with scholars, parents and staff to develop classroom management and instructional skills.

Your role includes assisting with lesson prep, supporting one-on-one and small-group instruction, and helping maintain records while upholding the mission of our schools and faith-driven environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• At least one year of teaching experience is a plus.
• Experience working with youth and families in urban communities.
• Proficient with technology.
• Valid teaching credential or willingness to attain one preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support a positive, achievement-oriented and structured learning environment.
• Provide assistance in lesson preparation and materials management.
• Assist teacher in achieving high outcomes and participate in planning.
• Maintain accurate attendance, behavior and student achievement data.
• Support students through one-on-one tutoring or small group instruction.
