Job summary

Arc Broward in Oakland Park, FL is seeking a Teaching Artist to deliver engaging, person-centered instruction through visual arts, digital arts, theater, and movement.

This full-time role (Mon-Fri 8:30am-4:30pm) focuses on developing pre-vocational skills such as communication, collaboration, problem-solving, self-advocacy, independence, and workplace readiness for participants with developmental disabilities.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in fine arts, visual arts, digital media, theater, dance, recreation, education, special education, human services, or a related field.
• Ability to teach, facilitate, or lead individuals or groups in a structured learning environment and create engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging, person-centered instruction using creative arts and recreation as a pathway for developing workforce, life, and community skills.
• Instruction may be provided individually or in groups and builds on participants’ interests, strengths, abilities, and goals.
