Gathering Tree Early Learning, LLC seeks a dedicated Early Learning Support Teacher and Kitchen Care assistant to support classrooms and prepare nutritious meals. You’ll help with daily activities, maintain a clean kitchen, and ensure safety and compliance with licensing standards.

You’ll collaborate with teachers, monitor child development, and provide a nurturing environment for children during play, rest, and meals. This role combines education support with practical kitchen responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Washington State Food Worker Card required or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to pass background check through DCYF.
• CPR, First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogens certifications required.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated and versatile individual to join our team. This is a dual role as an Early Learning Support Teacher and Kitchen Care assistant. In this position, you will play a vital part in ourprogram's daily operations by supporting classroom teachers in creating a nurturing educational environment while also ensuring our students receive nutritious, safely prepared meals. This role is perfect for someone who loves working with young children and takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.

What You'll Do

• Assist lead teachers with classroom management, daily activities, and implementing early childhood curriculum.
• Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children during play, learning, and rest times.
• Prepare, portion, and serve healthy breakfasts, lunches, and snacks according to nutritional guidelines and allergy restrictions.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and organizing inventory.
• Monitor children's behavior and development, reporting progress or concerns to the lead teacher and center director.
• Ensure compliance with all local health department regulations and childcare licensing standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Washington State Food Worker Card (or willingness to obtain before starting).
• Ability to pass a portable background check through the Washington Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF).
• Valid CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens certification.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.

Nice To Haves

• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or initial Washington State ECE Certificate.
• Previous experience in commercial food preparation or school kitchen settings.
• Knowledge of USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines.
