In the following academic year, Residents are hired as a WCCUSD teacher of record, continuing to grow professionally with district support and a clear path to independent classroom leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Commitment to teach in WCCUSD for at least four years.
• Acceptance or commitment to apply to one of our Teacher Residency Program partner schools (CSUEB - Education Specialists, Dominican University - Multiple Subject, Single Subject Credentials).
• Valid California Driver's License or reliable transportation to travel to school sites within the district.
• Official transcript for Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Residents will spend three days/week in a WCCUSD school with an experienced mentor teacher.
• There will be a gradual release of teaching responsibilities, moving from collaborative to lead teacher.
• In the following school year, Residents will be hired as a WCCUSD teacher of record.
