Job summary

KIPP Northern California is seeking an experienced Associate Director of Teacher Residency to lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the residency program across Oakland, Stockton, San Jose, and the Peninsula.

You will partner with school leaders, mentors, and Alder Graduate School of Education to grow a strong, diverse teacher pipeline and provide coaching and support to residents to become highly effective educators.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of professional experience in K–12 education, including at least three years of classroom teaching experience.
• At least two years of experience coaching teachers, developing educators, or leading adult learning initiatives.
• Familiarity with California teacher credentialing requirements and educator preparation pathways.

Responsibilities

• Owns the instructional experience for teacher residents by teaching weekly seminars and designing professional learning.
• Coaches residents and mentor teachers through observation, feedback, modeling, and development planning.
• Uses data to identify development needs and adjust coaching and learning experiences to maximize growth.
• Aligns support for Resident-Mentor pairs by collaborating with school leaders and instructional coaches.
