Job summary

Lighthouse Community Public Schools in Oakland is recruiting a Teacher Resident cohort for the LCPS Teacher Residency. Residents earn a Master’s Degree and Teaching Credential in one year through Alder Graduate School of Education, while joining a mentor-based program focused on social justice and equity.

After completion, graduates receive priority hiring as LCPS teachers. Residents spend a year in a structured program with courses, supervision, and a full-time commitment, with a living stipend

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree completed by June 2027.
• GPA 2.65 preferred; under 2.65 GPA should still apply.
• Eligible to work in the United States: U.S. citizen, DACA, or permanent residency

Responsibilities

• Participate in LCPS Teacher Residency, earning Master’s degree and credential.
• Join mentorship-based program with emphasis on social justice and equity.
• After residency, apply for priority hiring as LCPS teacher
