Job summary

ILCAO is seeking a Preschool Teacher to create a safe, nurturing classroom for 3- to 5-year-olds. You will plan developmentally appropriate activities, support social and cognitive growth, and work closely with families to promote school readiness in line with Head Start standards.

You will oversee classroom operations, maintain records, and ensure active supervision of children while fostering a warm, inclusive learning environment. This role emphasizes mission-driven service in the community.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field is required.
• Experience with children under 5 years old is required.
• Strong computer skills, familiarity with data management and reporting systems.
• Ability to conduct home visits, reliable transportation and a valid driver's license for occasional visits.

Job Overview

The Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children aged 3 to 5 years. This role includes planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth while preparing children for kindergarten and fostering school readiness, in alignment with Head Start Performance Standards and program goals. The Preschool Teacher collaborates closely with families to support each child's learning and development. Also, this position oversees classroom operations, including effective classroom management, accurate recordkeeping, and maintaining active supervision of children.
