Performance Responsibilities

• Remain up to date regarding curriculum content.
• Plan instruction effectively.
• Plan assessment of student learning effectively.
• Monitor students' understanding of the curriculum and adjust instruction, materials, or assessments when appropriate.
• Create a positive learning environment that fosters student involvement.
• Maintain appropriate standards of behavior, mutual respect, and safety.
• Make learning goals clear to students.
• Use appropriate instructional techniques.
• Employ effective questioning techniques.
• Evaluate and refine instructional strategies, including the effective use of technology, to enhance student learning and confidence.
• Communicate learning goals, standards, and expectations clearly to students.
• Encourage confidence and perseverance in students, promoting personal responsibility for learning.
• Ensure equitable opportunities for all students.
• Demonstrate sensitivity and appreciation for diversity among individuals.
• Maintain constructive and cooperative interactions with parents and be receptive to their contributions.
• Share responsibility for achieving the goals of the grade, team, department, building, and district.

Requirements

• Salary based on years of experience and education level, according to the pay schedule in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Valid certification to teach in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• SEI endorsement/ESL licensure preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree.
• Experience working with the appropriate age group.
