Treasure Valley Family YMCA is seeking a Full-Time Float Teacher for the St. Alphonsus Early Learning Center. The role focuses on creating a friendly, supportive atmosphere, supervising staff, and guiding program development and safety.

Responsibilities include implementing curriculum, fostering relationships, and maintaining a safe, engaging learning environment for children. Must be 16+, with prior childcare experience a plus; Apprentice/CDA candidates welcome.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• One or more years of experience working with children preferred.
• Apprentice/CDA Candidates or Enrollees preferred.
• Must be able to engage others in conversations and make all people feel welcome.
• Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.
• Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate.

• Nurture children through purposeful programs dedicated to building relationships, achievement, and belonging.
• Develop intentional relationships and maintain effective daily communication with participants.

• Monitor health and safety of participants, families, staff, and volunteers by following Leading Practices.

Description

Our St. Alphonsus Early Learning Center is seeking a Full-Time Float Teacher to join the team! This position is responsible for creating a friendly, helpful, positive atmosphere for everyone who enters the Y program through supervising assigned staff and managing program development, safety and engagement activities.

The Treasure Valley Family YMCA’s Child Development programs support children in their ongoing growth to ensure that they are ready for the next educational milestone, whether that be preschool, kindergarten, middle school, or high school.

Schedule:

This is a full-time position at 40 hours weekly with benefits. Schedule varies Monday through Friday. Pay is $17.05-$21.31/hour.

• Maintain an indoor and outdoor environment that is well equipped, organized, safe, clean, and welcoming. The environment is created based on the belief that all children learn best through play, positive adult interaction, and hands on open-ended experiences.

REQUIRED LICENSURE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS:

• Boise City and/or Idaho State Child Care License – Upon Hire.
• Pediatric CPR/AED – Upon Hire.
• First Aid – Upon Hire.
