Treasure Valley Family YMCA Caldwell is seeking School Age Teachers to join the Child Development team. You will help create a safe, engaging after-school environment and support children’s growth with a developmentally appropriate program.

Schedule is 3:00pm–6:00pm, Monday through Friday, averaging 15–20 hours weekly. Pay ranges from $15.45 to $19.31 per hour, with opportunities to contribute to a supportive community that values inclusion and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Minimum 1 year working with children is preferred.
• Able to engage others in conversations and make all people feel welcome.
• Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills; be sensitive, adaptable and articulate.

Our Caldwell Y Kidsis seeking School Age Teachersto join the team! These individuals are responsible for creating an environment with a teaching team that promotes each child’s development and supports children and their family’s diverse needs and interest.

The Treasure Valley Family YMCA’s Child Development programs nurture each child’s growth, building the skills, confidence, and foundation they need to succeed at every stage of their educational journey—from preschool and kindergarten through middle school and high school.

Schedule:

This is a part-time position averaging 15-20 hours per week. Schedule requirements are 3:00pm to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday, through the school year. Pay is $15.45-$19.31/hour.

Responsibilities:

• Create an environment that fosters safety though active supervision and by role modeling safe behavior.
• Nurture children through purposeful programs dedicated to building relationships, achievement, and belonging.
• Develop intentional relationships and maintain effective daily communication with participants and parents.
• Implement the established curriculum.
• Use positive behavior guidance techniques to support children’s appropriate development and behavior.
• Monitor and ensure the health and safety of participants, families, staff, and volunteers by following and implementing Child Development Branch approved Leading Practices.
• Use Y Core Values, developmentally appropriate practices, and effective teaching strategies to support each child’s unique background, needs and different learning styles.
• Maintain an indoor and outdoor environment that is well equipped, organized, safe, clean, and welcoming. The environment is created based on the belief that all children learn best through play, positive adult interaction, and hands on open-ended experiences.
