Job summary

Education Jobs NJ seeks a dedicated Teacher Assistant for the Burlington County Alternative School (BCAS). You will support teachers and students with behavior management, supervision, and learning activities, while promoting academic and social-emotional growth in a diverse student population.

Responsibilities include providing instructional class coverage when needed, in line with NJ Substitute Teacher Certificate requirements, district policies, and established procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's Degree preferred.
• Valid New Jersey Substitute Teacher Certificate or eligibility to obtain one.
• Ability to effectively manage and supervise students.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to maintain student confidentiality and interact with students respectfully.
• Safety-Care certification required as applicable.
• Ability to provide instructional class coverage when assigned by the building administrator.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom teachers and students with behavior management and supervision.
• Lead classroom activities and support academic and social-emotional development.
• Respond appropriately to student behavioral needs and crises.
• Provide instructional class coverage when needed per district procedures.
