Job summary

Applitrack at Burlington County Alternative School (BCAS) is seeking a Full-Time Teacher Assistant to support classroom teachers and students with behavior management, supervision, and academic and social-emotional development. The role may include instructional class coverage when needed, aligned with the NJ Substitute Teacher Certificate, district procedures, and lesson plans.

A high school diploma is required; NJ substitute eligibility is needed, with strong communication and collaboration

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred
• Valid New Jersey Substitute Teacher Certificate or eligibility to obtain one
• Ability to effectively manage and supervise students
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to maintain student confidentiality and interact with students in a respectful and supportive manner
• Safety-Care certification required as applicable
• Ability to provide instructional class coverage when assigned by the building administrator

Full-Time Teacher Assistant
Location: Burlington County Alternative School (BCAS)

Position Summary: BCAS is seeking a dedicated Teacher Assistant to support classroom teachers and students with behavior management, student supervision, classroom activities, and academic and social-emotional development. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with diverse student needs, providing individual and small-group support, responding appropriately to student behavioral needs and crises, and helping maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.

When assigned by the building administrator, the Teacher Assistant may also provide instructional class coverage during the absence of a classroom teacher, consistent with the requirements of their New Jersey Substitute Teacher Certificate, district policies, lesson plans, and established classroom procedures.

Salary & Benefits: In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Law, the annual salary range for this position is: $23,454 – $30,582
