Job summary

UCP of Central Florida is seeking a Teacher Assistant-Floater to support students PreK-12th grade at our campuses, pediatric therapy clinics and parent programs.

You will implement lesson plans, assist in preparing instructional materials, and administer assessments while documenting progress with observations and data.

Flexibility to move between classrooms, participate in trainings, and collaborate with teachers and families is essential.

Qualifications

• G.E.D. or High School Diploma.
• DCF 45 hour within 90 days of hire if after care/summer or camp.
• CRP/First Aid Training.
• Minimum 1 year experience working with children in an elementary classroom setting.
• Prefer experience working with students with disabilities.
• Flexible and able to adjust to different teaching/classroom styles.
• Attend required trainings, meetings and events.
• Maintain positive staff and parent interactions and communication.

Responsibilities

• Implements lessons plan including instructional groups per teacher’s direction.
• Assists in planning and developing/setting up instructional materials for classroom.
• Assist in administering assessments/progress monitoring.
• Documents academic progress through authentic observations and data collection.
• Utilize and ensure consistent implementation of behavior techniques and classroom management techniques and data collection.
• Perform Paraprofessional duties in his/her absence.
• Provide caretaking/housekeeping duties as needed and maintain classroom cleanliness.
• Attend required trainings, meetings and events and communicate concerns to administration.
• Ensure compliance with procedures and guidelines set forth by UCP and state/federal agencies.
