Job summary

UCP of Central Florida is seeking an On-Call classroom substitute to support and supervise students when a teacher is absent. You will follow lesson plans, manage the classroom, and ensure a positive learning environment across classrooms, halls, and common areas.

You will adapt teaching methods to meet diverse needs, implement behavior plans, provide basic care, and communicate with therapists and the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Minimum – G.E.D or High School
• At least 1 year childcare or classroom experience
• Prefer experience working with students with and without disabilities
• PreK: 45 Hour Department of Children and Family Training within first 90 days
• HIPAA, NAEYC, and other guidelines compliance

Responsibilities

• Perform classroom staff member duties in their absence.
• Follow teacher directions and lesson plans to create cohesive learning experience for students.
• Manage the classroom to encourage participation and minimize distractions.
• Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each student.
• Supervise students in halls, playground, cafeteria, and car line.
• Implement individual behavior plans as needed.
• Provide basic care giving duties (hygiene, feeding, handwashing).
• Assist in communication with therapists and the multi-disciplinary team.
• Maintain positive staff and parent interactions.
• Ensure compliance with UCP, HIPAA, NAEYC, Department of Education and other state/federal guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
