The Texas Department Of Criminal Justice is seeking an Administrative Assistant II - Inmate Records to support the processing, classification, and maintenance of inmate files and related documents. You will manage data entry, filing, and inquiries while ensuring compliance with agency policies and procedures.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and three years of wage-earning clerical or administrative experience; pre-employment drug testing and military preference considerations
Job Duties:Document Processing and Maintenance: Prepares, proofs, opens, classifies, sorts, and routes inmate files, records, and related legal or administrative documents. Ensures compliance with agency rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Data Entry and Management: Performs data entry and retrieval, posts information to agency records, modifies forms/records, and compiles, organizes, and tabulates data or calculations. Information and Inquiries: Answers telephones, responds to requests for information, and handles inquiries regarding policies and procedures related to inmate records. Filing and Reporting: Maintains and assists in organizing filing systems, logs, and documentation flow.
