Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin's Thompson Conference Center seeks a student worker to gain real-world event operations experience. You will help stage and manage events, provide customer service, and support in-person and virtual arrangements.

This role offers hands-on learning in a dynamic campus setting. You will set up rooms, assist clients, operate AV equipment, host streamed or hybrid events, and learn technical support for virtual meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up rooms and spaces, including moving tables and chairs.
  • Providing customer service, assisting clients’ general needs during events.
  • Setting up audiovisual equipment and computers.
  • Hosting Streamed Events, Hybrid Live Events, Videography and Online Learning Facilitation, Technology Support for virtual events using zoom and other virtual meeting software.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Job Details

Purpose Are you interested in ever-changing-real-world experience? Would you like to attain skills that can apply to almost any future job? Come join us at the Thompson Conference Center and learn to stage and manage events. We are a fun team of hard workers. While you work with us, you will gain experiences that will serve you no matter your future career. Responsible for customer service, event set up, and in-person and virtual event support at the Thompson Conference Center. Potential for extension into future semesters, based on performance and department needs.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for setting up rooms and spaces, including moving tables and chairs.
  • Providing customer service, assisting clients’ general needs during events.
  • Setting up audiovisual equipment and computers.
  • Hosting Streamed Events, Hybrid Live Events, Videography and Online Learning Facilitation, Technology Support for virtual events using zoom and other virtual meeting software.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
