Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Temporary Office Manager (UTemps) to support general office operations, event logistics, and vendor coordination on the UT Main Campus.

The 40-hour work week runs Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with a non-exempt status and an hourly rate of $30. This temporary role extends through November 30, 2026, and requires a strong clerical background and project coordination abilities.

Qualifications

  • Clerical experience, including one year at Administrative Assistant or Administrative Associate level with a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Or, clerical experience, including one year at Administrative Assistant or Administrative Associate level with a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: Experience initiating projects in Adobe Workfront.

Responsibilities

  • General office operations: printer/paper stock, office supplies ordering (UT Market/Today's Business Solutions).
  • Custodial/HVAC/printer/tech issue coordination.
  • Event & guest logistics: parking passes (chaser tickets, FDP passes, guest passes via PTS), gifting/wrapping coordination (Breed & Co., Neiman Marcus), shipping (label creation via eShipGlobal, packaging).
  • Facilities/AV: daily power on/off, entrance signage, marquee, sound machines, and conference room.
  • Tech vendor coordination: coffee/snack ordering and service (Parks), water cooler service, golf cart checkout.
  • Finance/admin: submitting purchase/PO/contract requests and payment requests via UEE Finance Dashboard, reconciling receipts via DocuSign, maintaining event/project folders.
  • Staff support: uniform and monogram shirt ordering.
  • Calendar/event intake: adding events to Outlook calendar.

Employment Eligibility

Regular staff who have been employed in their current position for the last six continuous months are eligible for openings being recruited for through University-Wide or Open Recruiting, to include both promotional opportunities and lateral transfers. Staff who are promotion/transfer eligible may apply for positions without supervisor approval.

Retirement Plan Eligibility

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
