Job summary

DirectShifts is seeking a physician to conduct Traumatic Brain Injury C&P examinations for Veterans in New York. The role involves reviewing medical records, performing detailed assessments, and preparing comprehensive medical reports. No on-going patient management or prescribing is required.

You will collaborate with VA and administrative teams to ensure timely submission of evaluations, with flexible scheduling options (FT/PT/PRN) and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• MD or DO with board certification in Neurology, Psychiatry, or Physiatry.
• Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.
• Excellent clinical assessment and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Compensation & Pension (C&P) examinations.
• Review Veterans' medical records, imaging, and supporting documentation prior to evaluations.
• Assess cognitive, emotional, behavioral, neurological, and physical residuals related to TBI.
• Complete VA Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) accurately and thoroughly.
• Prepare timely, objective, and detailed medical reports.
• Maintain compliance with VA standards, HIPAA, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure timely submission of completed evaluations.
