TBCP Grant Project Bookkeeper

Library

Hourly Wage $19.14-$21.54/Regular/Full-Time


This is a grant funded position and will end when the grant project ends in 2028


Responsible for performing a variety of highly specialized grant administrative office support work, specifically assisting with implementation of the Tribal Broadband Connectivity Project. Plans and organizes the grant project goals, objectives, and deliverables to meet designated timelines. Develops and maintains record keeping systems; prepares and maintains financial documents; adheres to confidentiality policy; and is self-motivated and detail oriented. Demands a high degree of organizational and interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate effectively with staff and Library Administrator.


Examples of Work Performed:


Process and record grant-related vendor invoices.


Verify invoices accurately.


Schedule and pay bills on time to maintain good vendor relationships.


Ensure compliance with grant funding rules and reporting requirements.


Order supplies & equipment for grant project.


Prepare purchase orders, budget reports, documents, data driven reports.


Journal Entry Preparation, Budgeting, Accounts Payable.


Track inventory.


Prepare contracts following Yakama Nation policies and procedures.


Assists with the program calendar, arranges meetings, schedules meetings, prepares necessary materials, attends meetings as requested, taking meetings minutes and preparing in final form. Distributes as required and/or keeps Library Administrator informed of important items requiring immediate review and actions as required.


Conducting research, collecting data, and preparing briefs for consideration and presentation.


Develop and carry out efficient documentation, filing system, and CUFF account.


Obtains signatures for routine documents.


Reviews and logs incoming documents, obtain signature after reviewing for accuracy and compliance with established protocol with policies and procedures.


Complete assigned duties to ensure work accurate, neat, and in conformance with all policies and procedures.


May be assigned new duties and tasks not included on the job description to ensure grant priorities are met, organizational goals are achieved, and best practices are upheld.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


Knowledge of computer use in Adobe, Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.


Knowledge and understanding of YN D365 Financial Accounting System.


Ability to complete tasks with minimum supervision and sound judgement.


Ability to demonstrate a high degree of personal integrity, professionalism and maintain strict confidentiality.


Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other department staff, supervisors, managers, and elected officials.


Ability to remain flexible to changes in assignments or situations, priorities and handle frequent interruptions.


Ability to understand and apply available guidelines to varied operational requirements and to follow clearly stated oral and written instruction.


Ability to perform typing work at an acceptable level of proficiency, as required by the position.


Ability to demonstrate professional telephone etiquette skills and communicate effectively both orally and written.


Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail.


Ability to maintain punctuality and attendance.


Ability to work under stressful conditions and demonstrate good morals and habits.


Minimum Requirements:


High school diploma or GED equivalent required.


Two (2) Years of experience as a bookkeeper or other qualifying experience based on previous positions of employment.


Must present a highly professional image and outstanding customer service to internal and external clients.


Required to pass a pre-employment drug test.


Required to pass a pre-employment background check.


Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License with the ability to obtain a Tribal Driver Permit with Defensive Driving Course certificate (to be updated every 2 years).


Preferred Requirements:


Background in grant compliance, reporting, or administration is highly desirable.


Enrolled Yakama Preference, but all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
