Job summary

The Taxpayer Services (TPS) Representative at the Horry County Assessor’s Office serves as the front-line contact for in-person, phone, and email inquiries, processing special assessment applications, mobile home registrations, and related transactions with accuracy and professionalism.

Under occasional supervision, the role requires strong communication, multitasking, and proficiency with MS Office, CAMA, and workflow tools to support multiple divisions within a fast-paced government office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of general office experience preferred.
• Public service/customer-facing experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service in person, by phone, or via email.
• Serve as the first contact at the Assessor’s reception area.
• Review and process special assessment applications and registrations.
• Respond to taxpayer inquiries about bills, notices, and letters.
• Maintain accuracy and timeliness in data entry and records.
