Job summary

Withum's Tax Services Group seeks a Tax Supervisor based in our San Diego, CA office. You will lead all aspects of audit engagements, supervise staff, and build client relationships with seasoned CPAs and industry leaders.

The role focuses on preparing returns for C/S corp and partnerships, high-net-worth individuals, and supervising staff accountants, while enabling growth within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
• Licensed CPA or working toward CPA with parts passed.
• Masters of Science in Taxation is preferred but not required.
• Minimum 4 years of public accounting experience.
• Excellent client service and communication skills with ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects.
• Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client's management.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex C corp., S corp., and partnership income tax returns.
• Prepare high net worth individual returns.
• Review mid-level complexity C corp., S corp., and partnership income tax returns.
• Review mid-level complexity individual returns.
• Research and draft memoranda involving complex tax matters.
• Identify tax planning opportunities.
• Handle and resolve tax controversies.
• Training and supervision of staff accountants.
