Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown, PC seeks an experienced tax professional in San Diego to prepare and review corporate and partnership returns, supervise staff, and contribute to strategic tax planning across domestic and international regimes.

The candidate should hold a CPA (or pursuing CPA with parts passed), have 4+ years in public accounting, and demonstrate strong client service, communication, and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• Licensed CPA, or currently pursuing CPA with required parts passed.
• Preferred: Master’s of Science in Taxation.
• At least 4 years of public accounting experience.
• Exceptional client service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects.
• Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex C‑corp., S‑corp., and partnership income tax returns.
• Prepare high net worth individual returns.
• Review mid‑level complexity C‑corp., S‑corp., and partnership returns.
• Review mid‑level complexity individual returns.
• Research and draft memorandum on complex tax matters.
• Identify tax planning opportunities.
• Handle and resolve tax controversies.
• Train and supervise staff accountants.
