Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a Tax Senior in Core Tax Services to apply tax knowledge, gather client information, and participate in tax planning. You will recognize risks and prepare accrual workpapers, using tax software to complete returns for review. You may supervise Core Tax Services Associates and mentor junior staff.

Role requires strong communication, research, and analytical skills, with CPA or advanced degree preferred. Strong teamwork and adherence to Firm policies are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics OR Bachelor's degree in other focus area and CPA certification (or Authorization to Test).
• Masters in Accountancy or Taxation preferred.
• Two years of tax experience or public accounting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Tax Compliance: ensure client compliance and minimize tax burdens while adhering to Firm policies.
• Research: identify when research is needed and report analysis clearly.
• ASC 740 (FAS 109 and FIN 48) Tax Accruals: apply policies and prepare provision workpapers.
• Tax Consulting: develop and implement methods to maximize client benefits and reduce tax liability.
• Strategy Development: propose improved strategies for client and Firm benefits.
• Mentor and supervise Core Tax Services Associates.
