Job summary

BDO USA, LLP is seeking a Tax Senior, Core Tax Services to apply foundational tax knowledge, gather client information for filings, support tax planning, and prepare returns for review, potentially supervising Associates.

This role emphasizes quality workpapers, adherence to firm policies, and collaboration with tax teams to deliver timely, accurate tax services across multiple states.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics required
• Masters in Accountancy or Taxation preferred
• Two or more years of prior tax experience preferred
• CPA, Attorney or EA preferred

Responsibilities

• Tax Compliance: ensure client compliance while minimizing tax and reporting burdens and ensure firm policies are followed
• Manage tax projects by planning the tax process and procedures with quality
• Review returns and notes; raises potential tax issues and meets internal deadlines
• ASC 740 (FAS 109 and FIN 48) tax accruals: prepare provision workpapers and discuss with team
• Tax Consulting: identify opportunities to reduce client tax liability and gather information for controversy work
• Strategy Development: develop new ideas to improve client position and explore tax implications
