Job summary

CliftonLarsonAllen LLP is seeking a Tax Senior Associate to join our Heartland CLA Region with locations in St. Louis, Kansas City and several IL sites.

The role focuses on preparing, supervising, and reviewing tax engagements for individuals and entities, while collaborating with clients and tax teammates on complex issues. The position emphasizes engagement leadership, coaching junior staff, and expanding technical knowledge through ongoing training and client exposure.

Qualifications

• CPA license (or EA eligible) or ability to sit for CPA exams and 150-credit requirement.
• At least 2 years' experience as an associate in public accounting.
• Ability to partner with clients to provide tax advisory services and work with team members on complex issues.
• Focus on engagement management and operational excellence.
• Willingness to develop and train junior team members.
• Strong problem-solving skills and client-service mindset.
• Love for public accounting and teamwork.

How you’ll create opportunities in this Tax Senior Associate role:

• Prepare, supervise, and review individual, C corporation, S corporation, and partnership engagements.
• Partner with clients to provide customized tax advisory services and work closely with other tax team members to identify and research complex tax issues.
• Focus on engagement management and operational excellence.
• Develop and train team members to help them build inspired careers.
• Expand your technical and professional knowledge through greater exposure to client interactions, regular self-study, and training opportunities.

What you will need:

• You have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• You have an active CPA license (or EA for Tax positions) or are eligible to sit for the CPA exams and meet the 150-credit requirement to obtain a CPA license.
• You have at least 2 years' experience as an associate in public accounting.
