Job summary

CLA is seeking a Tax Senior Associate to join our Heartland CLA Region with IL locations. You will prepare, supervise, and review tax engagements, partner with clients on advisory services, and focus on engagement management and operational excellence.

You will develop and train team members, expand your technical knowledge, and collaborate with a broad client base while upholding CLA's commitment to opportunities for clients, our people, and communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• Active CPA license (or EA for Tax positions) or eligibility to sit for CPA exams.
• At least 2 years' experience as an associate in public accounting.
• Demonstrated ability to support and foster aspiring career goals.
• Strong problem-solving and client-oriented mindset.
• Passion for public accounting and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, supervise, and review individual, C corporation, S corporation, and partnership engagements.
• Partner with clients to provide customized tax advisory services and collaborate with the tax team on complex issues.

How you’ll create opportunities in this Tax Senior Associate role:

• Prepare, supervise, and review individual, C corporation, S corporation, and partnership engagements.
• Partner with clients to provide customized tax advisory services and work closely with other tax team members to identify and research complex tax issues.
• Focus on engagement management and operational excellence.
• Develop and train team members to help them build inspired careers.
• Expand your technical and professional knowledge through greater exposure to client interactions, regular self-study, and training opportunities.

What you will need:

• You have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• You have an active CPA license (or EA for Tax positions) or are eligible to sit for the CPA exams and meet the 150-credit requirement to obtain a CPA license.
• You have at least 2 years' experience as an associate in public accounting.
