Job summary

Dean Dorton is seeking a Tax Resource Support Specialist in Raleigh, NC to coordinate staffing and track workflows for tax engagements. You will support both internal teams and outsourced resources to ensure timely delivery and efficient utilization.

The role emphasizes data accuracy, communication, and process improvement, with responsibilities across staffing, outsourcing, reporting, and dashboard support. A relevant associate degree and 2–4 years of tax support experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in public accounting, tax support, or administrative coordination.
• Exposure to tax workflows (1040, 1065, 1120) preferred.
• Associate’s degree preferred or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in assigning tax engagements to appropriate staff based on guidance from the Tax Resource Manager.
• Maintain and update staffing schedules and resource allocation trackers.
• Monitor daily workload distribution and flag imbalances or capacity concerns.
• Support routing work to outsourced tax preparation teams and track status.
• Ensure all required documentation is complete before sending work externally.
• Track project status across preparation, review, and completion stages.
• Generate routine reports on capacity, utilization, and turnaround times.
• Serve as a key communication link between tax staff, managers, and outsourcing teams.
