H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a seasonal, experienced Tax Professional in California to serve clients with diverse tax needs. You will receive advanced tax training and support from an expert team to be successful.

You will conduct tax interviews (in person or virtually), prepare complex returns, and help grow the business by increasing client retention and offering additional services. This role emphasizes client service and IRS support, with mentoring responsibilities for teammates.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification
• Experience completing complex returns (individual, trust, partnership)
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
• Experience conducting virtual tax interviews
• Experience with tax planning and audit support
• Sales and/or marketing experience

Your Expertise:

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment2
• Experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping or tax
• Experience completing individual returns
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Comfort working with virtual tools – video, phone and chat
• Ability to effectively communicate in person, via phone and in writing
• Must complete continuing education requirement and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements
• High school diploma / equivalent or higher

Pay Range

$18.50 - $25.00/Hr.
