Job summary

Jobot is seeking a dynamic Tax Manager for a top regional firm in Ohio. You will lead multiple tax engagements, prepare complex returns for individuals and entities, and provide planning and advisory services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s or CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in public accounting or corporate/public blend.
• Proficiency with tax preparation, research and planning software.
• Experience preparing and reviewing complex tax returns (1120S, high net worth, corporations, partnerships).
• Experience with federal/state tax, income tax, planning and returns.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and client service.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
• Knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
• Familiarity with U.S. federal, state and local reporting requirements.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Analytical problem-solving with ability to provide creative solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; teamwork or independent work.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple tax engagements to deliver quality services.
• Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for various entities.
• Build and maintain client relationships and demonstrate business knowledge.
• Prepare internal memoranda and guidance for IRS submissions.
• Train staff and review their work.
• Direct and monitor engagement teams on planning, consulting and compliance.
• Review returns and identify tax savings opportunities; elevate review responsibility.
• Conduct top-level review of tax issues and coordinate with specialists.
• Handle client tax questions and gather necessary information.
• Stay updated on current tax developments and apply knowledge to client situations.
• Analyze information and develop practical, creative tax solutions.
