Job summary

HBK CPAs & Consultants in Meadville, PA is offering an internship program for sophomore or junior accounting majors. You will receive training on federal and state tax preparation, participate in a week-long 1040 Tax Training Program, and contribute high-quality work while collaborating with team members at all levels.

You will gain hands-on experience in preparing tax returns, better understand how public accounting firms operate, and develop communication, analytical, and professional skills

Qualifications

• Sophomore or junior pursuing a major in accounting.
• Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; leadership experience, campus involvement, and relevant work experience are also highly valued.
• Actively pursuing or interested in pursuing the CPA designation
• Must possess excellent computer, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
• Must pass an employment background check

Responsibilities

• Receiving training on federal and state tax preparation, tax research, tax laws, and HBK software
• Attending a week-long 1040 Tax Training Program
• Contributing to the firm by providing timely and high-quality work products
• Working closely with team members across all levels of the organization and performing many of the same responsibilities as a first-year associate
• Gaining hands on training on how to prepare tax returns (individual and corporate)
• Gaining a better understanding of how public accounting firms operate
• Strengthening communication, analytical, and professional skills through hands-on experience
• Gaining insight into what it takes to build a successful career in the public accounting industry
