Job summary

Hill, Barth & King, LLC (HBK) offers a hands-on tax internship designed to train sophomores and juniors in federal and state tax prep, HBK software, and 1040 tax procedures.

Interns work with teams across levels, gaining exposure to how public accounting operates while building communication and analytical skills, with a minimum 24 hours/week requirement during spring busy season, and potential for future opportunities.

Qualifications

• Sophomore or junior candidate pursuing accounting major.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred; campus involvement and prior work experience valued.

Responsibilities

• Receive training on federal and state tax preparation and HBK software.
• Attend the week-long 1040 Tax Training Program.
• Contribute to the firm by providing timely, high-quality work products.
• Work closely with team members across levels and perform many responsibilities of a first-year associate.
• Gain hands-on exposure to how public accounting firms operate and how to prepare tax returns (individual and corporate).
• Develop communication, analytical, and professional skills through hands-on experience.
