Job summary

Regency Centers is seeking an Intern - Tax for the summer of 2027 in our Jacksonville, Florida corporate office. The internship will provide exposure to REIT, partnership, and corporate taxation within a real estate environment.

The program runs about 40 hours per week for 9 weeks, in-person, with mentorship and industry insight. High-performing interns may be considered for a full-time position, subject to business needs.

Qualifications

  • Student in good standing at an accredited 4-year college/university (sophomore or junior).
  • GPA of at least 3.0 at time of application.
  • Rising seniors (graduating in 2028) preferred.
  • Intermediate accounting coursework completed.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and internet research.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with calculating taxable income of entities and analyze book/tax differences.
  • Support REIT compliance monitoring and fixed asset reconciliations.
  • Gain experience with JD Edwards, GL Inquiry/Console, and Excel reporting.
  • Develop skills in accounting software and data analysis.

About this Opportunity:

We are seeking an Intern - Tax to join our corporate office located in Jacksonville, Florida during the summer of 2027. This internship will provide exposure to REIT, partnership, and corporate taxation, as well as commercial real estate.

This program will involve working approximately 40 hours per week (in-person in our Jacksonville office) for a duration of approximately 9 weeks. This internship is designed to provide you with valuable industry exposure, mentorship, and the opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic environment.

In addition to gaining practical experience, high-performing interns may be considered for a full-time position upon successful completion of the internship, subject to business needs.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Calculating taxable income of entities, including analysis of book/tax differences
  • REIT compliance monitoring
  • Fixed asset reconciliations
  • General experience will be gained in the following common accounting software and tools:
    • JD Edwards general ledger system
    • Reporting and inquiry tools, such as GL Inquiry / Console
    • Excel - including advanced level skills for reporting and analysis, such as pivot tables, formulas and functions, etc.
Are you qualified?
  • Must be a student in good standing at an accredited 4-year college or university, currently enrolled as a sophomore or junior
  • GPA of at least 3.0 at the time of application
  • Rising seniors (graduating in 2028) are strongly preferred
  • Completed at least an intermediate Accounting course
  • Intermediate level proficiency or higher with current Microsoft Office software (including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint), email, and Internet research functionality
  • Ability to apply AI tools to enhance productivity and creativity
  • Ability to learn new programs and software quickly
  • Ability to work a standard day shift, Monday through Friday, for 8 hours per day at the specified office location
  • Reliable transportation to and from the specified office location during working hours
