Top Echelon Software, LLC is seeking a Tax Director for its well-established CPA firm in Los Angeles. The role focuses on leading technical tax reviews, supervising staff, and guiding client service across diverse industries.

A fast track to Partnership is offered with strong benefits and a balanced work life. The Tax Director will oversee complex tax returns, participate in tax planning with major clients, and act as a resource for staff on tax issues while ensuring billing accuracy and staff

Qualifications

• Seven to ten years experience in public accounting with increasing tax complexity and research.
• At least two years experience representing clients before taxing authorities.
• Minimum one year supervising and directing work of tax preparers.
• Continuing education of at least 40 hours per year to maintain technical skills.
• CPA license is required; active membership in the AICPA preferred.

Responsabilités

• Performs technical tax review and approval of all tax returns and examinations.
• Serves as a subject matter expert in discipline or industry.
• Oversees client service and ensures assignments are completed within budgeted time.
• Manages larger tax returns and delegates to tax preparers as needed.
• Participates in client meetings and tax planning for large clients.
• Acts as resource for staff on tax issues and questions.
• Delegates and manages governmental tax examinations; may represent clients before authorities.
• Mentors and develops tax staff; recruits and evaluates performance.
• Ensures accurate and timely billing and collections.
