Job summary

PayPal is seeking an experienced Tax Counsel - Information Reporting to ensure global information reporting and withholding tax policy compliance across products, processes, and procedures. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to assess new products and update policies while identifying legal risk and defensible positions.

The successful candidate will guide policy creation, support regulatory compliance, and provide risk-based recommendations to business units and Finance

Qualifications

• > JD degree and bar admission required.
• > 5+ years of tax experience with leadership capabilities.
• > Ability to independently manage significant tax matters.

Responsibilities

• Advises on complex tax issues affecting business operations and strategic initiatives.
• Documents technical tax analyses to support planning, reporting, audit defense, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborates with Finance leadership to structure initiatives tax-efficiently and compliantly.
• Identifies tax risks and recommends mitigation aligned with PayPal's risk tolerance.
• Coordinates with external advisors and mentors junior attorneys as needed.
