Job summary

PayPal is seeking an experienced Tax Counsel - Information Reporting to ensure global information reporting compliance (FATCA, CRS, CARF, 1099) across products and processes. You will evaluate new and existing products for information reporting applicability and help create new policies with cross-functional partners.

You will mentor junior attorneys, draft requirements, review contracts related to reporting, and maintain strong partnerships with impacted business areas to ensure regulatory

Qualifications

• 5+ years relevant tax experience.
• JD degree or foreign equivalent.; Admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Advises on complex tax issues affecting business operations, transactions, and initiatives.
• Develops and documents technical tax analyses for planning, reporting, audit defense and regulatory compliance.
• Partners with business units and Finance leadership to structure initiatives tax-efficiently and compliantly.
• Identifies tax risk exposures and recommends mitigation consistent with PayPal's risk tolerance.
• Coordinates with outside advisors and may mentor junior attorneys.
