Job summary

PayPal is seeking an experienced Tax Counsel - Information Reporting to ensure global compliance with FATCA, CRS, CARF and 1099 across products and processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess new products and adjust information reporting policies.

You will mentor junior attorneys, review contracts related to information reporting, and support regulatory filings while upholding PayPal's risk tolerance and values. A JD and 5+ years of tax experience are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of tax experience with emphasis on information reporting and withholding.
• JD degree or foreign equivalent; admission to practice law.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage significant tax matters.

Responsibilities

• Advise on complex tax issues affecting operations and strategic initiatives.
• Develop technical tax analyses to support planning, reporting, and audit defense.
• Collaborate with business units and Finance to structure initiatives tax efficiently.
• Identify tax risk exposures and propose mitigation aligned with risk tolerance.
• Coordinate with outside advisors and manage external engagements.
• Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to knowledge development.
