PayPal is seeking a Tax Counsel - Information Reporting to ensure global information reporting compliance across products and processes. You will work with cross-functional teams to evaluate new and existing products for reporting obligations and policy creation, applying sound judgment on legal risk.

The role requires deep tax experience, JD, and bar admission, and offers a balanced hybrid work model with strong benefits. This is an in-house tax attorney position within PayPal's tax function.

Qualifications

• 5+ years relevant tax experience with in-house or advisory work.
• JD degree from an accredited law school and bar admission.
• Ability to independently manage significant tax matters.

Responsibilities

• Advise on complex tax issues affecting business operations and strategy.
• Develop technical tax analyses supporting planning, reporting, audit defense, and compliance.
• Partner with business units and Finance leadership to structure tax-efficient initiatives.
• Identify tax risk exposures and recommend mitigations aligned with risk tolerance.
• Coordinate with outside advisors and manage external engagements.
• Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to knowledge within the tax function.
