Job summary

PayPal is seeking an experienced Tax Counsel - Information Reporting to lead global information reporting and withholding tax policy across products and processes. The role partners with cross-functional teams to assess new products, implement policies, and defend opinions with sound risk judgment.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years of tax experience, a JD and bar admission, and will work in a flexible PayPal environment with opportunities to influence FATCA, CRS, CRS and 1099

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years in tax with strong legal background.
• JD degree or foreign equivalent and bar admission in at least one jurisdiction.
• Experience advising on information reporting and withholding tax issues.

Responsibilities

• Advise on complex tax issues across business operations and initiatives.
• Develop analyses to support planning, reporting, audit defense, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with Finance and product teams to ensure tax efficiency and compliance.
• Identify tax risk exposures and mitigate aligned with PayPal risk tolerance.
• Coordinate with external advisors and manage engagements.
• Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to knowledge within tax.
