Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• One year of job related experience in government accounting or business preferred.
• Must pass a clerical examination.
• Must submit to and pass a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Assist taxpayers in person, by phone or through written correspondence with all matters involving property tax; and processing large amounts of paperwork in compliance with deadlines established by state statues.
• Process tax payments; preparing tax statements and receipts; preparing deposit slips for pickup; processing returned checks; maintaining refunds, revenue deposits and recordings, sewer billing, Liquor and Amusement licenses and Mortgage Company billings; and posting contract payments on delinquent land tax.
