Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a year-round Block Advisor Tax Advisor to prepare accurate returns for diverse clients in-person at a local Block Advisors office. You will interview clients to understand financials, provide clear recommendations, and identify tax savings opportunities while building lasting relationships.

Responsibilities include supporting clients with IRS notices, audit guidance, and collaborating with the team to maintain a client-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual and business returns.
• Strong verbal and written communication with clients.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for diverse and complex situations (individuals and businesses).
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financials and tax implications; provide clear recommendations.
• Build year-round client relationships by offering tax savings opportunities and Block Advisors products.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive, client-focused office environment.
