Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of operations, hospitality, or retail management experience.
• Must obtain and maintain RFH and RBS certifications.
• Professional wine certification a plus (Sommelier, CSW, WSET).
• Demonstrated experience managing staff scheduling, labor compliance, and payroll processes.
• Experience with inventory management and cost control, ideally wine, food, or retail merchandise.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with POS and inventory control systems; proficient in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Knowledge of AMS and Commerce7 POS systems a plus.
• Working knowledge of wine and the wine industry preferred.
• Experience training staff on procedures, systems, and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to hold staff accountable to performance and operational standards.
• Knowledge of ABC laws, health and safety regulations, and labor compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Build, publish, and maintain staff schedules across all Tasting Room positions, including peak season.
• Own daily operational execution, including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and deposits.
• Verify timecards, attendance, overtime, and payroll processes.
• Own inventory across wine, food, and merchandise; resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate with vendors on ordering and deliveries to maintain stock without overordering.
• Assist in preparing the departmental budget and review monthly P&L for tasting room operations.
• Manage reservation logistics for tours, limos, and large groups; ensure coverage and compliance.
• Lead recruiting, onboarding, and training; manage performance reviews and day-to-day accountability.
• Monitor performance and address employee concerns; escalate as appropriate.
• Ensure adherence to policies, ABC health/safety regulations, and regulatory requirements.
• Compile daily/weekly reporting including sales, labor, and commission approvals.
• Troubleshoot POS, printers, card readers, and shipping compliance.
• Foster a constructive team culture with accountability and trust.
• Align staff goals with department and company strategies.
• Stay updated on hospitality/tasting room trends and regulatory changes.
• Partner with Hospitality & Experience Manager to align staffing with guest experience standards.
• Oversee servers and barbacks; coach on service execution and standards.
• Identify process improvements to streamline operations and reduce duplication.
• Fill in on the floor as needed to ensure smooth operations.
