Job summary

Scotto Cellars in Lodi, CA is seeking a friendly Hospitality & Tasting Room Associate to welcome guests, lead tasting experiences, and promote wine club memberships in a fast-paced, boutique winery.

You will maintain tidy spaces, handle cash at the counter, and support events while delivering education about our unique products like alcohol-removed wines. Weekend and some evenings required.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift and carry weights up to 40 lbs multiple times daily.
• Physical ability for bending, stooping, standing, and twisting in a retail winery tasting room.
• Valid food handlers card or ability to acquire one.
• Past wine, restaurant, sales, or hospitality experience is a plus; training available.
• Detail-oriented, driven to grow and excel, and maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.
• Friendly, engaging, passionate about wine, and willing to work with a like-minded team.
• Available 1–3 days a week, with ability to work weekends, special events, and some evenings and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Warmly welcome guests upon arrival and lead them through wine‑tasting experiences, emphasizing education and genuine connections.
• Work with the team to ensure hospitality spaces are stocked, clean, and organized, and complete daily open/close duties.
• Accurately count and reconcile a cash register.
• Promote, sell, and up‑sell wine and wine club memberships to meet monthly goals.
• Manage multiple tasting groups, anticipate needs, and create a positive guest experience.
• Provide or train in small administrative tasks within a POS system.
• Perform independent and accurate inventory checks of wine, merchandise, and other items.
• Recognize signs of intoxication and take swift action.
• Maintain a fast-paced yet professional, friendly demeanor.
• Assemble small bite items for guests while adhering to food safety guidelines.
