VJB Cellars is seeking a friendly Tasting Room Associate to greet guests, educate about our wines, and promote wine club memberships. This face-of-the-brand role emphasizes hospitality, product knowledge, and a memorable guest experience.

You will handle sales transactions, assist with events, and work as part of a family-like team. Must be 21+, able to stand long periods, and be flexible for weekends and holidays. In-person shifts with competitive hourly pay and tips.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No direct industry experience required.
• A love of hospitality is a must.

• Be an enthusiastic ambassador of all our brands – VJB Cellars and Wellington Cellars.
• Educate and encourage our wine club memberships and the benefits associated to all guests.
• Sell and upsell wine club and wine purchases to all guests.
• Coordinate and lead group tastings that tell the winery story.
• Stay informed about the winery’s current wines, upcoming releases, and general winery knowledge.
• Handle sales transactions, including operating the cash register accurately.
• Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of your workspace, while performing additional tasks.
• Have a passion for wine and deliver exceptional hospitality to all guests.
• Participate in offsite pourings, events and team meetings.
• Other duties may be assigned.

About the role

The Tasting Room Associate is a vital role at VJB Cellars, serving as the face of our brand and the first point of contact for guests’ engagement with our wines. This position is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our customers while promoting the sale of our wines and wine club.

• Outstanding hospitality and customer service skills.
• Oral and written communications skills.
• Computer literacy – knowledge of AMS software is a plus!
• Professional demeanor and appearance.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and communication skills
• Sales aptitude and understanding of all components of sales.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a flexible schedule – weekends and some holidays are required.
• Ability to work as part of a team/family
• Ability to work independently without supervision
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50lbs.
• A love and passion of wine, people and hospitality is a must!

Education/Experience

Job Type: Part Time/Full Time
Compensation: $22-$24 DOE + tips and commissions.
