Job summary

Budderfly is seeking a Utility Rates Specialist to join our Shelton, CT team. You will develop and maintain rate tariffs, research new utility options, and ensure accurate billing and compliance. The role partners with onboarding, billing, and development to implement rate changes and communicate updates to customers.

You should read tariffs, stay organized in a fast-changing environment, and excel at using Excel to analyze data. Prior experience in utility tariffs or related fields is preferred.

• Ability to read, understand, and interpret complex utility tariffs.
• Analytical and able to work in a fast-changing environment.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently.
• Experience communicating tariff updates to customers and utilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain rate repository for all rate tariffs for utilities we do business with.
• Actively research all new utilities for rate tariff options using a variety of methods (utility websites, email lists, calls).
• Coordinate with Onboarding team to ensure new accounts are onboarded with best possible rate structure.
• Review and correct any rate errors found on monthly customer bills that are identified by the billing team.
• Track tariff changes and inform customer service of updates.
• Collaborate with Development to implement system changes supporting rate info.
• Serve as the main contact with utilities for tariff updates and queries.
