Job summary

Big Grove Brewery seeks an Assistant General Manager to lead guest experiences and drive operational excellence in our Des Moines taproom. You will partner with the Store Director and leadership team to coach, set standards, and ensure consistent hospitality and profitability.

You will build confident teams through clear expectations, accountability, and ongoing development, while ensuring smooth daily service and event coordination with cross-department collaboration that enhances the guest

Qualifications

• 1+ years of proven success in a high volume, multi-unit restaurant/hospitality environment
• Strong ability to analyze data, diagnose issues and suggest improvements accordingly
• Proven track record in assisting operations to meet revenue and profitability objectives
• Willingness to continuously learn and change
• Ability to communicate with clarity and care

Responsibilities

• Ensure the restaurant is opened and closed with the highest standards to deliver a fantastic guest experience from entry to exit
• Lead from the front during shifts with high work ethic, urgency, and attention to detail
• Communicate daily with the team, set shift priorities and real-time adjustments for preparedness
• Develop, train, coach, and refine FOH teammates in Big Grove values, standards, and stories
• Manage FOH labor, inventory, and COGS with leadership to drive profitability and sales
• Foster cross-department collaboration across FOH, BOH, and leadership for alignment
• Lead or support events on-site ensuring strong execution and guest experience
• Participate in location leadership meetings and follow through on action items
• Operate with safety, health, and alcohol compliance in mind
• Be a high performing Big Grove team member and embody BGB values, vision, standards, and culture
