Job summary

Fat Head’s Beaverton is seeking a Taproom Lead Team Member to supervise shifts, coach staff, ensure safety and quality, and uphold ServSafe and alcohol-service standards. You will recruit talent, train hourly team members, and partner with management to deliver guest-focused service.

The role requires flexible scheduling including nights and weekends, with room for growth in a part-time capacity. Oregon certifications and driver’s license are prerequisites.

Qualifications

  • Must possess proper food handlers and alcohol dispensing certifications as required by law.
  • Must possess valid driver's license and appropriate level of insurance to drive personal car on company business.
  • Satisfactory criminal and motor vehicle records history.
  • Knowledge of labor laws, health codes, safe food handling and sanitation, responsible alcohol service.
  • Experience managing a restaurant with a full bar is preferred.

Von Ebert Brewing Taproom Lead Team Member Responsibilities

All Leads, regardless of position, share responsibility of and are accountable for following the Von Ebert Brewing Lead Team Member Description in conjunction with the following job description specific to this position in the company.

Team Responsibilities
  • Sources and recruits key talent for all areas of the business
  • Ensures the execution of all company specified training and development programs including hourly Team Member training
  • Plans and leads shift meetings, builds camaraderie, and solicits feedback
  • Participates in weekly manager meetings
  • Handles shift-by-shift coaching of team members
  • Handles shift-by-shift counseling of team members and seeks guidance from General Manager, District Manager, Director of Food and Beverage and Human Resources as appropriate
  • Keeps direct supervisor informed of any and all employee relations issues, especially potential discrimination or harassment of any kind
  • Creates and executes plans for self‑development, including but not limited to use of formal company training programs
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable wage and labor laws
  • Focuses on Team Member and Guest safety. Ensures Team Members are trained on and perform their duties in a safe manner following all standard operating procedures. Reacts and acts according to company specified protocol when a Team Member or guest is injured
  • Ensures all Team Members have current and valid permits, training and certifications for their positions
  • Ensures all payroll and personnel records are current and accurate
Guest Responsibilities
  • Models hospitality skills/behaviors, including regular interaction and engagement with guests
  • Ensures guest satisfaction, inspires guest loyalty and ensures responsible alcohol service, through effective shift execution
  • Effectively handles guest complaints during shifts, turning unsatisfied guests into satisfied guests
Quality Operations Responsibilities
  • Utilizes all compliance systems, manager tools and procedures both in a timely manner, and with integrity (including but not limited to CSP/SOP’s, restroom checks, ticket tracker, line checks, guest check audits) to ensure proper shift execution
  • Conducts administrative manager functions as needed (entering invoices, end of day procedures, etc.)
  • Maintains high cleanliness standards and holds Team Members accountable for adherence to daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules
  • Helps to ensure adherence to ServSafe Alcohol, Food and HACCP standards, with specific responsibility for Food Safety and HACCP
  • Assists in the rollout of new company programs, policies and procedures as requested
  • Manages overall Audio‑Visual Experience
Sales and Profits Responsibilities
  • Effectively manages shift labor to match business demands. Avoids the use of overtime. Plans meal periods and rest breaks in accordance with company, state and federal guidelines
  • Is actively engaged in store operations and supports Team Members in all aspects of guest service
  • Safeguards restaurant assets
  • Understands and executes all new product and marketing promotions
  • Manages shifts to achieve sales and profit goals including labor and food cost management, and controlling expense
Additional Requirements & Responsibilities
  • Must possess proper food handlers and alcohol dispensing certifications as required by law

  • Periodic travel to management meetings, annual convention and training as needed
  • Knowledge of labor laws, health codes, safe food handling and sanitation, responsible alcohol service, safety and security systems and procedures, computer operations
  • Well‑developed people management skills, communication and listening skills. Must be flexible and adaptable to change
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
  • Must be self‑motivated, detail oriented and have a passion for teaching others
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Work as a contributing member of a team
  • Analyze situations, identify and troubleshoot problems and implement solutions
  • Knowledge of profit and loss statements, food and liquor inventory, and restaurant cost control methods
  • Motivate others while providing work direction, training, and leadership
  • Read and comprehend written materials, write in grammatically correct sentences, and perform basic to intermediate mathematical computations
  • Take direction, communicate and execute team and company objectives

Nights and weekends required, part‑time with room for growth

Qualifications / Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • Candidates must be highly motivated, self‑directed, and results driven with strong organizational skills, attention to detail and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Oregon Food Handlers Card
  • Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission Alcohol Service Permit
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Willingness to work varied shifts
  • Possess ability and desire to create a fun, exciting environment for both guests and Team Members alike
  • Skilled with basic mathematical computations
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple priorities in a fast paced work environment
  • Maintain confidential information, adhere to and enforce company policies, programs and compliance issues
  • Qualified candidates bring a minimum of 2 years restaurant or retail management experience, and experience managing a restaurant with a full bar is preferred
  • This role requires the completion of a high school education or equivalent, a valid driver’s license to travel between units, a satisfactory background check, and the ability to lift 50 pounds regularly (See additional physical demands below)
