Job summary

Odell Brewing Company in Fort Collins, CO is seeking a Taproom Associate to welcome guests, guide them through beer and wine offerings, conduct tastings, and support events and tours on a flexible schedule up to 28 hours per week.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain glassware standards and keep tables clean and organized.
• Promote ticket sales and assist with back-of-house tasks as needed.

ABOUT OBC WINE PROJECT

After decades of brewing award-winning craft beer, Odell Brewing ventured into a new category with the launch of a wine project. Dedicated to the exploration of unique flavor profiles in the world of wine, this project was born out of the brewery’s shared passion for the art of winemaking. The wine cellar and tasting room are located on a property adjacent to the Fort Collins brewery. We make, package, and serve wine on tap, in cans and bottles, with distribution in several neighboring states and throughout Colorado.

POSITION SUMMARY

Our Taproom Associates are at the heart of guest experiences across our campus - bringing energy, hospitality, teamwork and a genuine enthusiasm for World Class Beer, Award Winning Wine, and delicious eats to every shift. In this fast paced, hands-on position, you’ll welcome and serve guests, guide them through our beer, wine, and food offerings, conduct tastings, process transactions, support special events and tours, and help create an environment that fosters memorable community experiences.

Position Hours : Schedule will vary up to 28 hours per week.

Must be willing and able to work nights, weekends, and some holidays

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Cultivates a welcoming and inclusive environment that promotes equitable practices and demonstrates a commitment to diversity

Promptly welcome guests as they enter the taproom in a warm and friendly manner

Support guests in beer, wine and food selection - including but not limited to, offering tasters and sharing tasting information

Remain attentive to overall flow and team needs

Wash and maintain glassware standards

Minimize beer, wine, and merchandise loss

Regularly clear and clean tables

Provide roaming service as scheduled to promote ticket sales and overall positive guest experience

During downtime, remain active by completing assigned tasks, including but not limited to:

Ensure the entrance, patio, and floors are clean and organized

Check temperature, lighting, music, cleanliness, bathroom marketing, and overall guest experience throughout the shift

General cleaning, stocking, and inventory management

Accurately handle routine purchasing transactions, including operating cash register, POS, opening/closing duties, and updating guest information

Actively support and assist with special events, charitable events, wine club, and other active initiatives

Change kegs, tap new beers and wines & update digital menus as needed

Conduct fun and informative tastings and/or provide samples to encourage sales

Assist with wine shipping, merchandise sales/stocking and inventory tasks

Assist with, report, and document, as appropriate, problematic guest situations

Willingness to assist with any back of the house needs

Act as liaison for any outside contractors

Conduct fun and informative public tours

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED

Must be at least 21 years of age

Must be willing and able to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays

Must be comfortable engaging with customers and resolving issues as they arise

Must have at least one year of relevant experience, preferably in a bar or taproom

TIPS certification required or acquired within 3 months of hire

Demonstrated passion and ability to ensure excellent guest experiences

Passionate about Odell’s purpose of building community through beer required

Models and promotes Odell culture and values

Demonstrated positive, motivated, hardworking, and collaborative attitude

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Knowledgeable about craft beer and wine a plus

Draft system maintenance, line-cleaning, or troubleshooting experience is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to work long hours on your feet

Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and move up to 160 lbs

Ability to work in a hot, wet, and loud environment

Ability to crouch, bend, lift, climb stairs, and reach

Ability to remain focused and level-headed under demanding situations

Ability to regularly work nights, weekends, and some holidays

COMPENSATION

Wage information is provided in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and is Odell’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation range and benefits offered for this position. The compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, or other position-related reasons. Tips will be pooled each week combining both the Winery and Brewery.
