Job summary

Southwest Economic Solutions in Beaumont, TX is seeking a tanker trailer technician to perform external and internal visual inspections, pressure tests, and leak tests on DOT tankers. You will also test hazardous material certified tanks and work on various tanker equipment.

Must have welding experience (TIG/MIG) and willingness to train through our apprentice program. This full-time on-site role offers a daytime schedule and potential for growth with experience.

Qualifications

• Diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical trailer systems
• Perform external/internal visual inspections and tank testing
• Knowledge of air brake systems and ABS

As a tanker trailer technician for cargo tank repair and testing your primary responsibilities are to perform external visual, internal visual, pressure, and leak tests on DOT specified tankers. You will also be responsible for tank testing on hazardous material certified tanks such as vac trucks, hydro excavators, oil tankers, guzzlers, tanker trailers, cargo tanks and more.

Pay rate is depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

Perform external visual, internal visual, pressure, and leak tests on DOT specified tankers.

Conduct tank testing on hazardous material certified tanks such as vac trucks, hydro excavators, oil tankers, guzzlers, tanker trailers, cargo tanks, and more.

Required Skills

• Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat).
• Diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical, or various systems on a trailer.
• Tank service and repair.
• Knowledge of air brake systems and repairs.
• Working knowledge of ABS systems.
• Welding experience: TIG/MIG aluminum, stainless or carbon.
• Willing to train through our apprentice program.

Experience

• Tank Valve Repair or Replacement: 1 year (preferred)
• Tanker Air Systems Repair: 1 year (preferred)
• Tank Trailer Repair: 1 year (preferred)
• Trailer Brake System Repair: 1 year (preferred)
• Trailer Electrical Lighting Repair: 1 year (preferred)
• Trailer Suspension Repair: 1 year (preferred)
• MIG Welding: 1 year (preferred)
• TIG Welding: 1 year (preferred)

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Able to pass a background check.
• Able to pass a drug screen.
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must provide own tools that are adequate to perform job functions.

Schedule

Monday – Friday

7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

40 hours of pay minimum (1.5 pay after 40 hours)

Occasional Saturday work when needed (non-mandatory)
