Job summary

CTTECH located in Creola, AL is seeking a tanker trailer technician to perform external and internal visual inspections, pressure and leak tests on DOT tankers, including hazmat-certified tanks. The role requires diagnosing and repairing mechanical/electrical systems, tank service, and welding experience.

Applicants should be able to train through an apprentice program and must meet minimum eligibility requirements. On-site, full-time position with standard hours, plus occasional Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting tanks/trailers per DOT HM183 standards.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Experience with tank service, air brake systems, and ABS knowledge.
• Welding experience (TIG/MIG) on various metals.
• Willingness to participate in apprentice program.

Responsibilities

• Perform external and internal visual tests, pressure tests, and leak tests on DOT tankers.
• Conduct tank testing on hazmat-certified tanks and related equipment.
• Diagnose faults and repair mechanical/electrical systems on trailers.
• Maintain & repair tank trailers; ensure compliance with DOT standards.
• Work schedule Mon-Fri with potential Saturday as needed.

Description

As a tanker trailer technician for cargo tank repair and testing your primary responsibilities are to perform external visual, internal visual, pressure, and leak tests on DOT specified tankers. You will also be responsible for tank testing on Hazardous Material certified tanks such as vac trucks, hydro excavators, oil tankers, guzzlers, tanker trailers, cargo tanks and more.

Pay rate is depending on experience

Demonstrated skill in most of the following areas:

• Ability to effectively and efficiently inspect tanks and trailers to align with DOT standards (HM183, hazmat)
• The ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical, or other various systems on a trailer
• Tank service and repair
• Knowledge of air brake systems and repairs
• A working knowledge ABS systems
• TIG/MIG aluminum, stainless or carbon welding experience
• Willing to train through our apprentice program

Experience:

• Tank Valve Repair or Replacement: 1 year (preferred)
• Tanker Air Systems Repair: 1 year (preferred)
• Tank Trailer Repair: 1 year (preferred)
• Trailer Brake System Repair: 1 year (preferred)
• Trailer Electrical Lighting Repair: 1 year (preferred)
• Trailer Suspension Repair: 1 year (preferred)
• MIG Welding: 1 year (preferred)
• TIG Welding: 1 year (preferred)
• CDL A license (preferred)

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid driver's license
• Legally eligible to work in the United State
• Able to pass a background check
• Able to pass a drug screen
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
• Must provide own tools that are adequate to perform job functions

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday
• 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
• 40 hours of pay minimum (1.5 pay after 40 hours)
• Occasional Saturday work when needed (non-mandatory)
