Job summary

Phillips Tank & Structure (PTS) is hiring a full-time Tank Builder / Welder to join our nationwide team. This role involves welding, cutting, testing, and assembling above-ground storage tanks and related structures across projects.

Candidates must have strong communication, reliable attendance, the ability to lift 50 lbs, and a willingness to learn. Background checks and drug testing are required; a valid driver's license is necessary.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and organization skills are required.
• Must be able to solve problems and suggest improvements to our systems.
• Good attendance and punctuality are essential to every shift.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be at least 18 years old and physically capable of lifting 50 lbs.
• HS diploma or equivalent and be eligible to work in the United States.
• Background checks and pre-employment drug testing are required.
• A valid driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle record checks are required.
• Welding ability is a plus and appreciated.
• Ability to read detailed erection and fabrication drawings and follow safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform arc welding, cutting, gouging, and grinding as part of tank fabrication.
• Operate generators, compressors, tuggers, blowers, and other power tools.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings and tank shell layouts.
• Plan welding sequences and fit-up for tank construction and repairs.
• Follow safety protocols and complete safety training and audits.
• Work with crew members to complete projects on time and to spec.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors.
